Inductees are required to attend classes and formative evaluations sessions. - A minimum of 90 hours of direct classroom instruction as provided by TILA-IP
- 40 hours of mentor meetings per year (an average of one hour per week)
- At least two-hour sessions per semester or four per year viewing videotapes
- they have created of their classroom teaching. The videos are reviewed and critiqued by peers, mentors, and instructional coaches (8-10 hours of formative evaluation)
Inductees are required to be observed and receive written evaluations. - Inductees are informally observed by peers and receive an informal evaluation and related documentation in a short evaluation form. Inductees are formally evaluated by their Mentors and TILA-IP instructional coaches at least one time per semester
- These observations culminate in extensive documentation in a formal narrative that cross-references Colorado State Teacher Standards and the inductees’ goals as outlined in their Professional Development Plan.
Inductees are required to submit an Induction Portfolio - Inductees are required to produce a portfolio that addresses the three goals that are outlined in a Professional Development Plan and cross-references the Colorado State Teacher Standards. Each goal must have a minimum of three artifacts with related reflections, a letter of recommendation from mentor, coach and administrator as well as a working educational philosophy and annotated bibliography citing scholarly references.
